Purchase a Week of Vegetables, Safely Pick Up in Town.

The Covid-19 Pandemic has turned life on its head. Running errands is now fraught with anxiety. Let us help make shopping for vegetables and eggs a bit easier. You can buy your box by the week or subscribe for six weeks. Pick up from Plainfield Hardware on Thursdays from 2-5 pm— no need to handle cash or negotiate a crowded grocery store. You can also pick up other basics like chicken, beef, milk, and butter from the hardware store.

We support other Vermont food producers!

Pasture Raised Chicken Subscription! we are thrilled to be partnering with Hannah Pearce of Pearce’s Pastured Poultry at Hillside Farm to offer a fresh chicken subscription. She is offering a chicken add on to our produce box with four deliveries throughout the pasture season. With the growing instability of the national meat supply, now is a great time to lock in 4, 12, or 20 birds for a freezer full of chickens! All the details and payment options can be found on her site: https://www.hillsidefarmvt.com/csapartners

Maple add on: The Covid-19 Pandemic shut down maple producer’s Open House Weekend, a time for the public to visit sugarhouses in the midst of production and enjoy some sugar on snow! This shutdown also robbed producers of an important avenue for retail sales. To help alleviate this hit, we’re partnering with Farnham Farm to offer you 2020 syrup and other maple treats! You can purchase below and pick up with your produce box.

All your weekly shopping, done and ready for you to pickup curbside!

Isn’t this just a CSA? Not quite. CSAs require an up front financial commitment for the whole season. We felt that at this uncertain time, that wasn’t the right approach. Not only is a weekly box more flexible financially, you can decide week by week if you want more or fewer vegetables– get a large box one week and a small box the next. No worries about food waste here!

What’s in a share? Shares will vary week to week as different crops come into season. This page and your weekly email will let you know what’s in the box each week. You will always get more for your money than you would at a retail location.

Do you accept food stamps? Yes. Please email the farm directly to pay using EBT/ SNAP. tamarackhollowfarm@gmail.com, subject line “EBT”

Can I customize my produce box? Unfortunately for now we do not have the bandwidth to build customized produce boxes. Rest assured that we will not saddle you with any weird or difficult vegetables, just the easy to cook basics.

Is all of the produce certified organic? What about the eggs? All of the produce grown on our farm is certified organic. We occasionally purchase produce from neighboring farms; if this produce is not organic you will be notified and given the option to substitute the non-organic produce for organic produce. Our laying hens are raised on pasture and fed certified organic grain, but they are not certified organic.
